Next solar eclipse in 6 months

The next solar eclipse is an annular eclipse on 06 Feb 2027.

Greatest eclipse falls at 2027-02-06 15:59 UTC, over 31.3° S, 48.5° W. The next lunar eclipse is partial, peaking 2026-08-28 04:12 UTC. Both times are computed from ephemeris with the same solver that times every aspect on this site. Measured at 2026-08-18 19:12 UTC.

What this page does and does not tell you

It gives the global peak: the instant of greatest eclipse and the point on Earth beneath it. It does not compute local circumstances — whether the eclipse clears your horizon, when it begins and ends where you stand, or how much of the Sun is covered from your latitude. That requires an observer position, and Horoscorpio states what it measures rather than estimating what it has not.

Questions

When is the next solar eclipse?

The next solar eclipse is annular and peaks at 2027-02-06 15:59 UTC, in 6 months. Greatest eclipse falls at 31.3° S, 48.5° W. That is the global peak — the point on Earth where the eclipse is deepest.

When is the next lunar eclipse?

The next lunar eclipse is partial and peaks at 2026-08-28 04:12 UTC, in 9 days. A lunar eclipse is visible from the entire night side of Earth at once, unlike a solar eclipse.

Will I be able to see it from where I am?

This page gives the global peak time and the point of greatest eclipse. It does not compute local circumstances — whether the eclipse is above your horizon, and how much of the Sun is covered from your location, depends on where you stand. Horoscorpio states what it measures and does not estimate what it has not.

What is the difference between a total and an annular solar eclipse?

Both occur when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun. In a total eclipse the Moon is near enough to cover the Sun completely. In an annular eclipse the Moon is further away in its elliptical orbit and appears slightly smaller, leaving a ring of sunlight around it. The obscuration figure in the table above is the fraction of the Sun covered at greatest eclipse.

Where do these times come from?

They are computed from ephemeris with the same solver that times every aspect on this site — not copied from a published listing. Times are UTC.

Times are UTC and computed from ephemeris. Horoscorpio states angles and times; it is not prophecy, and it is not medical, financial or legal advice.
